Electronic Prepress
Holland Litho Printing provides seamless service from pixels to paper. Our completely digital workflow from proofing to plating enable us to deliver results meeting and exceeding expectations!
Electronic PrepressWe take advantage of all the popular page layout, image-editing, and object-oriented illustration applications. We frequently update our array of powerful workstations to keep your projects moving through in a timely manner.
We recommend and receive PDF files on a regular basis, as they can be “bullet-proof” when prepared properly. There are a number of considerations when preparing a high res PDF for print. All fonts and graphics need to be embedded. The file should also include trim marks and bleed, with the marks offset at .125"– out of the bleed area. We still proof PDF files back to our customers after we run them through our system as on occasion we receive a PDF that doesn’t have a font or image embedded, or bleed is missing.
Checklists We have checklists available for preparing pdf’s and for preparing files in general to help assure everything is prepared properly before submitting files to us.
Plating We are totally CTP (computer to plate). This means that once you have given your approval on a proof, we can then take that same file that made the proof and send it directly to plate. Being totally electronic makes us very efficient for getting that time-sensitive job to press or when changes are needed while on press.
Proofing Nearly every job gets a color accurate, digital color proof. We also produce what we call a “booked proof.” We take this second proof and book it up, trim it out, drill it, stitch it, or whatever other applicable finishing will occur with your job. Many customers are surprised how many things are caught before press with booked proofs — type or art where the drill holes fall is just one of many examples.
Color CertificationAll of our color proofers and presses have been certified to GRACOL 7 Standards, ensuring that what you see on your proof is what you will receive in your final printed piece - no surprises.
