Replacing a Roof for a Holland Litho Team MemberHLPS helped improve the quality of life for co-worker and her husband.
HLPS volunteers were happy to play a part in improving the quality of life for co-worker and her husband. Here's the backstory: The couple needed a new roof yet could not afford it at this time. A colleague learned of the situation and went into action organizing a posse of volunteers to solve the couple's problem. Holland Litho crews after hours and on their own time put a roof on for the couple. Ten volunteers worked on a Monday night and then six the next evening worked to complete the project of adding a new roof! That adds up to about 53 total volunteer hours over two evenings to install the 20 square roof with dimensional shingles and 50’ of ridge vent. We removed five old style vents and added OSB sheeting. Fortunately, a tear off of the old roof was not needed! A special thanks to all who helped roof and feed the roofers and a special thanks to Doug James Building Group for many hours donated and tools used.
