Holland Litho is now FSC® certified!
Holland Litho has further developed its commitment to eco-friendly printing processes by attaining Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) certification (FSC® C108386). The FSC certification enables Holland to offer you the option of including the FSC logo on your project to certify that the paper on which the project is printed originated in sustainably managed forests.
FSC certification provides a credible link between responsible production and consumption of forest products, enabling consumers and businesses to make purchasing decisions that benefit people and the environment as well as providing ongoing business value.
The Forest Stewardship Council is an international network established to promote the responsible management of the world's forests and their ecosystems. The Chain-of-Custody certification was issued to Holland Litho at the completion of a rigorous audit of Holland Litho's facility and processes.
Chain-of-custody certification entitles Holland Litho to apply the FSC's trademark "checkmark-and-tree" logo, the initials FSC or the words, "Forest Stewardship Council" to projects printed on FSC-certified paper, which is being specified with increasing frequency by client companies and other entities eager to show their commitment to environmentally responsible business practices. Unlike just the "Printed on Recycled Paper" designation, the FSC system requires that the finished product must have flowed from an FSC-certified forest of origin, to a paper manufacturer, to a paper merchant, and finally to a printer that has been granted FSC Chain-of-Custody certification. Obtaining FSC certification is just the latest link in a lengthening chain of Holland Litho's environmental accomplishments. "We are proud to have achieved chain-of-custody certification because it underscores our longstanding commitment to sustainable manufacturing practices within our facility and the community where we do business," Baarman said. "Equally important, this certification also provides our customers with another means to reduce the environmental impact of their printed materials, as well as any marketing benefit that including the logo provides."
