New postage rates in effect as of January 21, 2018
As has become custom, January is ushering in a new set of postage rates from the USPS. Remember, what used to be called "standard" mail in the past is now known as "marketing" mail. Here's a summary of the changes.
Some examples:
- Marketing Mail letters are basically flat, with no price increase and a slight decrease in certain situations.
- Small increase in non-profit letters, mixed increases/decreases in non-profit flats.
- Retail First-Class Mail Letters (1 oz.)— Rates are increasing from $0.49 to $0.50.
- Automation First-Class Mail Letters (1 oz.)— Rates are increasing very slightly (from $0.373 - $0.423 to $0.378 - $0.424).
- First-Class Mail Flat— Mixed; some increases, some decreases.
