The Extra Mile:
Not Quite 1 in a Million, but it was 1 in 190,312!
The customer's mailer is printed. The list is loaded and each piece is getting its unique address imprinted on it at a rate of 30,000 per hour.
The customer calls. They received a "do not mail" request when the list was already at the mailer.
Many printers would have said, "Sorry the job's being processed. It's too late." But HLPS isn't most printers and Jason, who operates the addressing equipment, is no ordinary employee.
After hearing about the request, Jason searched deep into the stack on the pallet. Sure enough, he spotted the name associated with the "do not mail" request. He pulled it, gave it to the CSR, who informed the customer.
She was ecstatic, in utter disbelief someone would find one piece among nearly 200,000!
She framed the piece. We were happy to go the extra mile for the customer.
