Video: The Inside Story of an HLPS Employee Keeping Her Mom's Tulip Time Honor a SecretHolland Litho digital press operator Uliana Goncharova can sure keep a secret. You see, Tulip Time had selected Uliana's mom, Alla Dickson, as the winner of the Art in Bloom contest for her submission of an oil painting entitled "Spectacle". Art In Bloom, as part of Tulip Time Festival, is an annual contest to select the imagery to be used to represent Tulip Time and its merchandise. Needless to say, to have one's artwork selected to represent the festival is a huge deal. The contest winner's identity is a closely guarded secret revealed at a February dinner. Uliana's problem: As a team member in the digital press department, Uliana saw her mom's winning submission on the cover of the pieces we were printing in advance of the announcement. She had to keep her mom's winning entry a secret for weeks before the event! We asked Uliana and Alla to talk about the selection and keeping secrets and we'd like to share the resulting video with you. Watch it below!
